Simon Has a long history in the engineering and manufacturing sectors including spells with Shell and Nissan. Currently, Simon the Managing Director of Hethel Innovation Ltd. and runs the Hethel Engineering Centre business incubator and the Scottow Enterprise Park.
Additionally, he oversees an enterprise and innovation consultancy, focused on growing the knowledge economy through collaborative innovation, sector focused economic development and business demand driven skills training.
After graduating from The University of East Anglia with a Bachelors in Energy Engineering with Environmental Management, Matt joined the NAAME project at Hethel Innovation Ltd.. As a NAAME Network Coordinator, Matt provides support to manufacturing and engineering businesses in New Anglia (Norfolk and Suffolk), facilitating collaboration between academia and industry, as well as mapping sectors and businesses within this area.
During his degree, Matt specialised in environmental policy, residential renewable energy systems, and the generation, distribution, and storage of electrical energy. His dissertation saw him working in a research team at the cutting edge of energy storage development, utilising rapid prototyping, and additive manufacturing (commonly known as ‘3D printing’).
